Seattle's Adrian Xavier grew up traveling the
West Coast with his mom, a known peace activist and single mother, he
was exposed to many diverse things early in life, from Native American
spirituality to reggae festivals and Rainbow Gatherings. Xavier found
his calling as a musician and artist in his earliest years.
His father
was a radio DJ in Los Angeles who worked with Rick Dees on the popular
Weekly Top 40 show on L.A.'s Kiss FM for almost 20 years, and thus he
was exposed to the world of pop music first hand. One of Xavier’s most
vivid memories was sitting with and meeting Dick Clark at a Michael
Jackson concert in 1984. That meeting was among the many notable
influences on Xavier’s love for music, but It was the sounds of Marley and the world of reggae that had the most profound influence on his
musical direction, especially after meeting reggae legends like Burning Spear and Joe Higgs among others as a youth.
Xavier has collaborated musically with a number of notable local and international musicians, from the original members of Heart to members of legendary reggae groups Soul Syndicate and The Wailers.
Adrian Xavier is committed to being a voice for the voiceless, performing extensively for events that benefit relief efforts, the environment, youth organizations and community-based projects. His music crosses social and cultural barriers, reaching a broad range of ages and backgrounds with his original and soulful reggae sounds. Performing shows year round, Xavier maintains a solid group of musicians that are among many of Seattle's best.
