The vibrant sound of reggae artist Heartafiya emanates from the island of Barbados. Coming from a tradition of roots, singing and music making, he was inspired by his father who was a musician and disc jokey. Heartafiya was reared to the music of pioneers like Everton Blender, Sanchez, Beres Hammond, Glen Washington, Barrington Levy and Bob Marley. The name Heartafiya is a reflection of his burning passion for music.

Reggae music in particular is instrumental to understanding his journey. To him reggae is spiritual and an avenue for telling his story to the world.

Heartafiya is gifted with the ability to musically express raw emotions and create mental images through lyrics much like the musical storytellers who’ve inspired him. His dedication over the years culminates into his debut album. Heartafiya combined his vocal and song writing talent with that of international producers and select-featured artists, to create the Reggae Vibes album. The truly organic project is an intricate portrayal of everyday life.

Each song on the album has a unique story to tell. Songs like El Shaddhai, Knowledge, Africa and Chosen Ones have a more serious tone, calling the reggae army to action against the tribulations of today’s world. While tunes such as Wine For Me and Worldwide portray a lighter dancehall vibe.

No reggae album would be complete without heartfelt ballads such as the duo In Love as well as a re-mastered version of the previously released Call My Name. The album also features a cover of Jacob Miller’s Suzie Wong, originally released in the 1970’s. Lastly, the catchy title track Reggae Vibes promotes pure positivity.

As his music begins to make incredible waves, Heartafiya is poised to make his mark on the international reggae scene.
