Originally from Odienné in the northwest of Ivory Coast (Côte d’Ivoire), Mamadou Soumahoro nicknamed "Malayky" was born November 12, 1972 in Lakota (Ivory Coast). It was in this town in the South Bandama region, west of the country, that he grew up near his family of traders.
In the « Djiboua » (Lakota), he began his first steps in music by participating in several school competitions.
A few years later, Malayky left school and is found in Abidjan.
Faced with the harsh realities of life, he has a passion for reggae as a
valve against the stresses of life, he listens while humming a few
classics to entertain and cheer up his friends in the street.
This episode of his life in the street,
will develop in him a fighting spirit. He will thus practice several
informal trades such as being a porter at Adjamé station to ensure his daily.
His meeting with the late Mamadou Doumbia, considered his idol and a counselor will determine his desire to become a singer artist.
